This takes the overall film’s net collections to Rs 46 crore (including premieres) in India. Although the film witnessed a 30 per cent drop in collections, the decline was not as significant as predicted. RSS chief lauds Akhanda 2 Akhanda 2 sales on the ticketing portal BookMyShow in the last 24 hours alone stand close to 261K, demonstrating Balakrishna’s star power at the box office. With Sunday too being a holiday, the Akhanda 2 would cross the Rs 50 crore mark comfortably. In overseas too, Akhanda 2 opened to a good response. The film collected around $900K and is poised for better numbers in the weekend. Fans of Balakrishna are appreciating his performance in the action sequences and the devotional element in the story. With no big-ticket release around, makers are hoping that the film will find more love with a rise in theatrical footfalls.RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat heaped praises on Akhanda 2. Showing appreciation for the film, he expressed hope that more films that are rooted in values would arrive in theatres in the future.
